OD 99mm Electric Excavator Waterproof Slip Ring IP65, 24 Power + 15 Signal Circuits, 0–380V
1. Product Overview
The DHS099F-39 is a heavy-duty combined slip ring developed for electric excavators and diesel-to-electric retrofit projects. It is mounted at the excavator slewing center to transfer electrical power and control signals from the stationary lower chassis (battery / power source) to the rotating upper structure (cabin, slew motor, hydraulic pump motor, controller, sensors).
With an outer diameter of 99 mm, IP65 sealed aluminum alloy housing, and separated power/signal chambers, it eliminates cable winding, signal interruption, and high-voltage disconnection during continuous 360° rotation.
2. Key Features
- Multi-circuit combined design – 24 power circuits + 15 signal circuits in one compact unit
- High current capacity – 30A per power circuit, suitable for e-excavator main drive and pump motor
- Stable signal transmission – dedicated CAN-L/CAN-H circuits, shielded signal wires, no cross-talk with power
- IP65 protection – dust-tight and resistant to water jets, fit for construction site, mining, outdoor use
- Gold-to-gold contacts – low electrical noise, low wear, long service life
- Encoder support – optional encoder circuit for slew angle / feedback
- Flange mounting – easy integration with central slewing joint
- Maintenance-friendly – corrugated conduit on rotor leads, clear stator/rotor marking

4. Application in Electric Excavators
In an electric excavator, the slip ring works as the rotary power & communication bridge:
- Lower vehicle side (stator / inner ring) → connected to chassis battery pack or dragged-cable 380V supply
- Upper vehicle side (rotor / outer ring) → connected to slew motor, pump motor, cabin controller, camera, sensors
Transmitted circuits include:
- High-current DC/AC power for slew motor and hydraulic pump drive
- 24V auxiliary power for controller, display, lights
- CAN bus between BMS, MCU and upper controller
- Encoder / angle feedback
- Pressure, tilt, temperature sensor signals
Without a dedicated slip ring, cables would twist and break after a few rotations, causing power loss or high-voltage interlock shutdown.
5. Why IP65 + OD99 for Excavator Retrofit
- OD99mm fits common central slewing flange space of 7–24t class excavators
- IP65 handles dust, rain, mud splash on site; upgradeable to IP67 for mining
- Power/signal separated chambers avoid motor inrush current interfering with CAN
- Gold contacts + Teflon leads reduce heat rise under continuous duty
For 25t+ mining excavators or 800V high-voltage platforms, we recommend reinforced insulation, IP67 housing, or integrated hydraulic rotary joint.
